Missing the Point is a rock band from Champaign/Urbana, IL, active from 2001 to around 2012. They independently released two albums of original music—Healing of the Nation (2005) and It Could Get A Little Bit Better (2011)—and performed throughout the midwest and east coast, sharing the stage with bands like Fall Out Boy, The Plain White T’s, and Lucky Boys Confusion. Though never officially disbanding, performances became substantially less frequent and are now referred to as “reunion shows”, the last of which took place in 2017.
